Kids - ages 8 - 12*
Kids Folk Orchestra is a fun, collaborative group music class for kids who like to play music. Participants need to be able to hold their instrument, play a few chords or a song or 2 on any instrument (piano,
bass, accordion, ukulele, fiddle, guitar,). There will be a focus on building confidence, a tool kit of collaboration skills and learning how to play music in a group setting.
*more advanced students may be admitted to the Youth Orchestra in accordance to musical ability.

FolkHarmonic Youth is a fast paced group class that helps build group music skills, theory, improvisation and the joy of collaboration.
Group settings such as Folk Orchestra offer young players a chance to collaborate with each other, learn necessary skills for ensemble playing, including improvisation, arranging and composing.
*Younger students may be admitted in accordance to musical ability.
There is a minimum level of musical experience/instrument proficiency for students participating in this group.

Nov 1, 2, 3 Woodstove Festival, Cumberland BC
Youth Folk Orchestra has been invited to perform at the Woodstove festival in Cumberland. More information on exact times and locations will be available on the festival site and given during class.
Class fees are due the first class of each term, and covers the costs of facility rental, home practice resources and class time.
There may be extra costs associated with this class for events such as attending concerts and bringing in a clinician to work with the students. Notification will be sent out ahead of time and some financial assistance may be available to help cover these extra costs for those who need it.
