Hi Folks, The world is definitely changing quickly and in these uncertain times it's even more important to have our communities close. I know that FolkHarmonic is an important part of my own week as well as for many of you. I'm doing everything I can to make sure we can keep 'meeting' weekly starting in April. Part of that is learning how to use the awesome technological resources available in this day and age. So tonight is a trial run. So for those interested I'm hosting a Folkharmonic Sing & Social tonite (sunday) 7:30pm, in a Virtual Dove Creek Hall. The service I'm using is called Zoom. You will need to download the app/program ahead of time. It is free for you, and you shouldn't need an account (though you may want to so you can host your own Zoomings after this). Click on the button below to get that started. Please be patient with the technology, tonight is just a trial run. It gives you all a chance to familiarize yourselves with a new program and gives me a chance to work on teaching through a new medium. If things don't work at first, don't worry there will be more. There are also a ton of great resources on the zoom support page to help you learn how to use it!
Things you will need: -a moderately stable interent connection -a device that connects to the internet that has video capability (Computer, tablet, phone) -pre load Zoom on to the above device. Optional: (But will make the experience so much better) -Head phones that connect to your internet device via a cable. (bluetooth tends to lag terribly) -Tea -Cookies or chocolate You won't need an instrument tonight as I will be leading a vocal warm up and then teaching a song with harmony for us to sing to. I am currently far from my studio and don't have all of my mics & gear & resources that will make teaching instruments over the inter webs easier. But we'll work with what we got. If you want to sign in a little early I'll be online by 7:15pm or so, so when you are ready to head to class tonight, click the button below and it should teleport you into the hall!
